Sakura, sakura

Miki's blog and that of a friend in Seoul currently visiting Kyoto (OK, that is about plum blossom!) have made me nostalgic for Japan at cherry blossom time. There used to be cherry trees in front of the Berlaymont but they disappeared in the renovations, and I have yet to go and see whether the ones in Boitsfort are still there. So, here are some of last year's pictures from Tokyo instead.

Glad to have found your blog via your visit to mine - and I'm happy you liked the book! I'll be back ...

I'm glad to see many people doing "Ohanami" through a blog system. Actually I did "Ohanami" again in Shinjuku Gyoen. Have you been to Shinjuku Gyoen?

No, Miki, I didn't get to Shinjuku Gyoen, I really didn't do even half of what I would have liked to do in Tokyo. But then I had to save something for next time! And next time I want to go in the Autumn, as green mentioned. One problem is that both Spring and Autumn are busy times at work, so it might not be for a few years yet.

Maybe you will be living in a French-speaking country by then, miki! And then if it's in Europe, you will have to visit Brussels and we can go to festivals here - though not mountains, we don't have those in Belgium!

OK! In Belgium,no mountain! I didn't know. Is there a hot spring?

No hot springs either, but we do have the original "spa" ("thermes" in French) in Spa:

Not that I have ever been there...
Hot springs go with volcanic regions, like Japan, so here in the low countries we don't have such things. I think the closest would be in Italy - good excuse to go there!
