He is walking in a fog! It's an interesting statue.I did't see such a statue in Japan.
I don't know where he is going, Greensleeves, but he is just outside the Hilton Hotel, which would be the closest swimming pool...
Miki, on that particular day he was walking in a fog, I thought it added to the scene because otherwise the background would be a most uninteresting building site! I think many people here might say you were lucky not to see such a statue in Japan, but I like the fact that even the ones people hate add a little quirkiness to the landscape. I certainly know some more uninteresting statues than this one! Perhaps we should have a contest for the most uninteresting one?!

i used to love how he glided through the water & those webbed hands. cool.
You forgot the big nose, boo and he certainly has a bit of Duffy in him :)
